Champions sought for Pilot Programme
We’re looking for a small number of people involved in Suffolk cricket clubs or Suffolk rugby clubs to take part in our Pilot Programme in early 2024.
You must be involved in a club already although preferably not an existing club officer. This is because you probably have enough to do already. Carbon Champions aims to add to existing (scarce) club resources not deplete them.
No specific skills are required but you will need access to a laptop and the internet to use the administration part of the software. A genuine concern for environmental issues is important. A ‘can do’ attitude will help too.
You will have to be at least 14 years old to take part in the online community. If you are parents of children younger and want to join on their behalf then that’s great. Your children are the ones who are going to be most affected by climate change.
The Pilot Programme runs for six weeks from 3 January with a ‘Graduation Ceremony’ on Wednesday 14th February. Most of the hard work is done for you, but you will need to commit a couple of hours each week. To get a feel for what’s involved have a look at earlier posts.
It starts with testing our new Online Learning system (it’s more fun than it sounds). This shows you how to use our Online Platform to set the baseline for your club’s journey to Net Zero (ditto). Sharing your experiences (good and bad) with other Champions on our Online Community is the final step.
